DSLDSLR from David Lang on Vimeo.

The last ten days have been really crazy, but right now I’m back in Canadaa and have been busy catching up with technology. First order of the day: filming with my newly acquired Nikon d300s. This DSLR video stuff is super fun. Here’s a one-evening video I shot of Harrison Boyce and Travis Collier.

Next up: Figuring 3D out.

+ Photos from China and USA soon!! :D

Here’s a GIF I just made at 7am at the Vancouver airport.

Back from China! What a rad trip. Have tons more photos to blog from China but those will have to wait, as after only a few hours since getting in from Asia I am at the YVR airport again. Am flying to NYC for a few days then Dallas afterward. My sleep cycle is very confused.

Watching the free, live World Cup stream on CBC. Impressed with this stream! Aaand New Zealand just scored against Italy, it’s 1-0. What a year for the underdogs this is!

More China travels! I just installed a wordpress plugin called ‘Faster Image Insert’ which has made uploading images 5000X easier and way more awesome. It makes Wordpress without it look… backward. If you upload images to wordpress, I highly recommend installing it.

Lots of photos in this post. Took forever to upload them in Wordpress’ tedious format but here we go!

The photo above is of a big Xiao Long Bao with a straw in it so you can suck out the soup. It was rather strange and pretty delicious.

Boom! Internet finally working, here’re some pics from our first day in Shanghai. This be our hotel lobby.

I was gonna make a blog post with lots of pictures but the internet here is being finicky so I’ll have to do that later. But for now here’s a picture of our first proper meal in Shanghai. It was so delicious. We went clubbing last night which was an interesting experience to say the least. Starting to learn the Shanghainese way of living which is very intriguing, and have been speaking mandarin non-stop since I arrived which has been really fun. China is awesome.

Hello! I am in China where I will be for the next 25 days. Twitter and facebook are both blocked on the internet here. It’s quite strange.

Flew through Beijing airport to get to Shanghai. Beijing’s airport has a really cool roof. Took pictures of that, and pictures of other things when I was arriving from Canada last night, but I haven’t uploaded them yet. So instead, here’s a GIF I just made of me carrying hotel room art with a pillow over my head.

Plan to update this blog consistently on this trip. More photos soon! :D

Just uploaded a new series of photos I shot for m0851. Check ‘em out here!

Put up a new gallery with photos I shot over three afternoons of my family last summer. Check it out here!

I was reading up on the new London 2010 Olympic mascots and came across this line:

“The Cyclops design allows the mascots’ eyes to work as lenses, and digital cameras in the shape of the characters will be available.”

Like many, I’ve been skeptical of the 2012 logo ever since it was revealed. And those mascots are just quite strange.

But the camera thing? Fucking cool. I want to shoot photos with a cyclops olympic mascot so bad.
